Cozymel's Mexican Grill Description:
The tortillas---hand-crafted all day in the open kitchen---and fresh salsa in this Caribbean getaway-style restaurant are so addictive they could be among the best in town. The friendly 12-seat bar's margaritas are also tops. Stone walls, ceiling fans, track lighting and palm trees contribute to the tropical ambience. While traditional Mexican fare---tacos, tortillas, tamales, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, flautas---is offered, Cozymel's prides itself on its seafood. The salad of slice pan-seared sesame-crusted ahi steak over mixed greens with fat-free mango-lime vinaigrette is a meal in itself. The signature slow-roasted pork is served with spicy verde sauce, pico de gallo, rice, black beans, sautéed vegetables and freshly made tortillas. Among desserts are flan and banana pudding layered with cinnamon crisps topped with sliced almonds, caramel sauce and whipped cream in a large martini glass rimmed with banana slices. Banana pudding and a soft drink accompany kids' entrée choices which include grilled cheese quesadillas, mac 'n' cheese and chicken strips. An array of imaginative margaritas and specialty drinks nicely complement the adult cuisine.
