Review :
I was very disappointed in our recent meal at Jean Georges Steakhouse at Aria. I took my 21 year old son on his first trip to Vegas and even he said it was disappointing. We started with salads My son selected the tomato salad that he said was great and I had the wedge of lettuce with crumbled blue cheese and bacon. My salad was very plain and the blue cheese was part of the dressing (not as advertised). They did bring a nice selection of breads, but the wait was long.
We waited another 30 minutes for the main course. I had the 8 oz. Filet Mignon (medium) and it wasn't more than 1 inch thick. Flavorful, but not juicy at all and not tender as expected with this cut of meat. They did include an interesting chili butter sauce but it didn't match the steak.
My son had the NY Strip (medium rare). One end was burnt and the other end was cold and very raw. In all fairness, we were offered the Kobe Beef, but that was out of our budget.
We split a cast iron pot of garlic mashed potatoes and were warned it might not be enough for two and they were right. Two small scoops each. The best and last part of the meal was two cups of cappuccino to prepare ourselves for the long night ahead. Final thoughts: a long forgettable meal and a hovering staff that seemed confused as to who was doing what.
