Big Sur Oyster Bar Description:
An extensive menu of seafood is presented in this spacious oyster emporium. Guests are seated at an oval granite bar surrounding the open kitchen, where clams and oysters are deftly chucked, salads are tossed and a team of talented chefs turns out appetizing cuisine. Among favorites are a king crab salad sandwich and the decadent lobster grilled cheese on sourdough. We like the jumbo lump crab cakes with a fresh salad and their versions of New England and Manhattan clam chowder. The hearty gumbo full of andouille sausage, shrimp, chicken, peppers and okra is a winner, as are the crab, shrimp and combo pan roasts with wild rice and tomato butter sauce. Save room for dessert at the resort's Kate's Korner Ice Cream Parlor.
