Sal & Judy's Description:
Chef Sal Impastato found his way to America in 1960, and since then has been stirring his 15-gallon pots of real Sicilian dishes. Casual and homey, this place is across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, and specializes in Creole-Italian cooking with Impastato's solid Sicilian foundations. The trout Belle Meunière is as luscious a piece of fish as you'll find in these parts. The whole artichoke stuffed with seasoned breadcrumbs is heartwarmingly good. Getting a table usually means a substantial wait, but the time and the drive are worthwhile. Prices are astonishingly low, portions are huge and service is country-style friendly.
