A majestic, gingerbread mansion houses this restaurant, but global lounge music, modern art and a refreshingly up-to-date small-plate-style menu make it oh-so-hip. A destination for locals (it's where chefs, servers and bartenders go on their night off) and visiting urbanites, nine one five is very much a "see and be seen" place, but quiet tables inside or on the sides of the porch permit seclusion if that's what you desire. Choose among mix-and-match offerings, like Dungeness crab, Granny Smith apple and lemon-miso dressing wrapped in sushi-grade ahi; bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with garlic; or Serrano ham carpaccio with grilled Belgian endive. Bigger appetites can seize upon bistro classics like roast chicken or steak frites. Sip a passion fruit Bellini or a glass of interesting wine, and take in the scene---upstairs at Point5 wine bar (with its own specialty tapas menu) until as late as 2 a.m.
