Kabob Korner Description:
Regulars of the now-closed Kabul Restaurant are happy to see the same dishes appear at Kabob Korner. While the atmosphere is much more casual and the only beverages are water and soda, most of the Kabul favorites remain on hand. The spicy soup of vegetables, garbanzos, beef and noodles is served in a paper bowl and is eaten from plastic silverware. But it and the kurma chalow, a mixture of chicken breast or lamb cooked in a spicy tomato-onion sauce and mounded atop rice, are as memorable as meals enjoyed at its predecessor. Also not to be missed is the manto, steamed dumplings filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with yogurt sauce. Of course, there are kebabs of chicken, beef or lamb tucked into pita, too.
