Oakley's Bistro Description:
Nestled in a far-northside suburban shopping strip, this jewel of chef-owner Steven Oakley has created a following of those seeking great tastes and a chic environment. The menu has such whimsical dishes as an appetizer of petite shrimp corn dogs and comfort food that includes Oakley's grandfather's recipe for barbecue-glazed meatloaf. You also may find duck breast with rock shrimp potato hash, fettuccine with veal meatballs or pork loin with a root beer glaze on the changing menu that always includes a vegetarian dish. Servers are knowledgeable and attentive in the cozy room with cloth-covered tables. Everyone seems to have a favorite dessert, be it the cheese board, crème brûlée with pumpkin mousse or lemon almond pound cake with raspberry cream and pine nut popcorn brittle.
