"Location, location, location" is the adage at Lone Eagle Grille. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe's flagship restaurant takes full advantage of its prime lakefront setting to offer cuisine that's as inspiring as the view. Settle into plush leather seats next to the rock fireplace beneath soaring ceilings with rough-hewn beams and relax for an evening of good food, wine and music. Putting fresh, regionally sourced ingredients center stage, the restaurant presents High Sierra cuisine in a seasonally changing menu that balances heartier wild game and meat dishes with fresh seafood preparations and fresh produce. Game meats such as elk and buffalo are the restaurant's biggest sellers, but a pairing of seared ahi tuna, crispy tempura shrimp and briny scallops with micro greens and seaweed salad is a welcome ocean treat. Other standouts include succulent rosemary grilled quail stuffed with goat cheese atop a crisp spring pea pancake, and grilled swordfish with a mix of snap peas, cherry tomatoes, crisp leeks and pea nage. An extensive wine list is helpfully detailed, and includes selections that are light- to full-bodied; the knowledgeable sommelier is available to provide expert tableside recommendations. Lone Eagle's lounge is perfect for après-ski (or après-beach) and serves creative Tahoe-themed cocktails, crisp pizzas, calamari and other bar-friendly snacks accompanied by a live guitarist.
