Maya Del Sol Description:
Owned by the couple behind Chicago's Pizza Capri, this departure is a welcome option for suburbanites---particularly since its New Latin cuisine comes from Frontera Grill vet Ruben Beltran. The cheery, sun-hued restaurant has elevated booths, oversize windows and an active bar scene. While not everything comes off as revolutionary, the carne asada is marinated in chipotle and served with chimichurri and the nachos are crowned with honey-cider vinegar-braised, pulled pot roast (they're awesome). As for the cochinita pibil and ropa vieja, they're quite good. Margaritas are the real deal: potent and limey. And the guac, well, you'd be remiss not to order a mortar-full.
