Woodlands Description:
Despite its stark décor and cafeteria-style setting, Woodlands has a special charm, emphasized by vivid Indian paintings. And you most likely will be charmed, as we were, by the restaurant's abundant menu, beginning with that South Indian favorite, idli (steamed rice and lentil patties). We love a good masala dhosa (a rice-flour crêpe stuffed with potatoes and herbs---the South Indian answer to french fries), and this ones is as flavorful as any in town. Try the Mysore Royal Thali (dinner special), which includes samples of appetizers and main dishes. Whatever else you do, start with rasam, the traditional South Indian sour-spicy soup, a flavorful broth that will jar your taste buds awake.
