43rd at Wedge International, The Description:
Striking angles and curves lead through a tiny labyrinth of earth-toned dining rooms topped with mirrored ceilings. The pièce de resistance is perhaps the most beautiful bird's-eye view in Houston. The limited menu changes weekly, with a few standards remaining all the time. We find the seafood gumbo thick and hearty, but a tad over-seasoned. The Neptune Platter, with a tastier-than-average shrimp salad, adds the bonuses of Nova Scotia smoked salmon and huge boiled shrimp. Most diners, however, sample various main courses like grilled chicken Oscar, sautéed orange roughy, butterflied filet mignon and marinated pork tenderloin. The 43rd, which only serves lunch, seems to embrace the traditional standards of this energy-industry district.
