Taste of Texas Description:
The high-ceilinged interior reminiscent of a Hill Country hunting lodge makes us think this may be the most Texan of all restaurants. Furthermore, stuffed animals---a zoo-full ranging from a hammerhead shark to an opossum hanging from a branch---and antiques such as Sam Houston's signatures appear throughout the restaurant. The best feature of this good-value steakhouse is that you can personally instruct the butcher to cut a rib-eye to your desired thickness. The Taste proudly serves prime rib and Certified Angus Beef® in myriad cuts, but we also love the grilled shrimp here. There are good hot breads, salads with homemade croutons and side dishes galore. We can't pass up the big baked potato loaded with fixings or the delicate steamed vegetables. You'll appreciate the distinguished wine list and, for dessert, the feather-light mousse.
