Tampico Seafood and Cocina Mexicana Description:
At the entrance of this seafood emporium, you'll be greeted by a cold deli case stocked with red snapper, shrimp, scallops and other fruits of the sea that can be purchased to-go or ordered to eat. The menu is fairly straightforward---mostly fish with a few other Mexican dishes like fajitas or tacos. All of the seafood dishes are either fried, boiled or grilled and prepared Mexican-style: al mojo, in butter with garlic; a la ranchera, with tomato, onion, bell pepper and hot peppers; or a la diabla, which is the same but devilishly hotter. The atmosphere is family-style with fiberglass booths, lots of neon and fluorescent lights, a kitschy mural of whales and dolphins---and noise, lots of noise.
