Garlic Restaurant Ninniku Ya Description:
As the name would indicate, this is a place where all the food has garlic in it, from the sautéed scallops on the appetizer menu to the garlic ice cream for dessert. Although this restaurant is from Japan, the food is essentially Western-style, with a few Asian touches. The concept is not as unusual as you might think at first. What’s surprising, for instance about pasta with a little garlic? Or steak with garlic? There are a few exotic touches: ama ebi with enoki salad; seared ahi on crab wasabi-guacamole (and you haven’t lived until you’ve had crab wasabi guacamole). A note: Portions are meant to share. The steak served sizzling on a hot stone will easily feed two hungry people, for instance. So take a lot of folks. The wine list is surprisingly French, surprisingly good, surprisingly affordable. You will have a nice evening here.
