Hy's Steak House Description:
Old-school fine dining is the rule here from the décor of rich dark woods in The Library and the Art Deco Emerald Room with its commodious banquettes to the impeccable tableside service of Caesar salad and flambé desserts. The wine list is more than adequate with nearly 200 well-chosen wines from around the world. Steaks are all USDA Prime, dry-aged and trimmed right on the premises. We love that they grill the steaks with local kiawe wood and the fact that your steak comes with vegetables and several choices of potatoes or pilafs---none of that oft annoying à la carte nonsense that can really hike the bill. For the non-steak-lover there are many options; we particularly like the fruits de mer, rack of lamb or chicken Marsala. Our dream dinner? Start with the oysters Rockefeller, follow with Châteaubriand and finish with the lush bananas Foster flambéed tableside. They'll have to roll you away from the table, but it's so worth it.
