This popular establishment still serves traditional, hearty plate lunches. No frills, just the archetypal meat or fish, two scoops of rice and macaroni salad. The teriyaki beef (sauce on the rice) is a classic. The food is almost secondary, though. Go sit in a Naugahyde and Formica booth with your plate stacked high, dig in with your plastic fork and watch people on their lunch break.
