L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Description:
L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Hong Kong is Joël Robuchon's tenth edition of his acclaimed L'Atelier (literally "workshops" in French) chain restaurants, four of which already exist in Paris, New York, Las Vegas and Tokyo.
Situated in the heart of the business district in Central, Hong Kong, at the Landmark shopping center. It is claimed by Robuchon as "very much a family restaurant where the cooking is very much in front of the guests". You will find chefs cooking away in full view of diners seated in black and red Chinese lacquered interiors.
Robuchon believes in using the local products as much as possible but still maintaining the "la cuisine de France" technique. Some believes the L'Atelier chain is French fusion. The chef says it is la cuisine de verite, mange la verite, which is basically cooking done very fast and very easy but the product has to be perfect.
As with most French crusines in town, the cost will be pricey.
