If there is a place to be seen in Hong Kong, it's the latest project by socialite Bonnie Gokson, sister of fashion icon Joyce Ma. At 22,000-square-feet in a penthouse perched atop the Prince's Building, this stunning space affords a 360-degree balcony with views of Central and Admiralty, the harbor and Kowloon skyline. As you weave through the five enclaves (including the Harbor Side, Bank Side, Taste Bar and The Terrace), notice that each corner has its own design identity, e.g. the Bank Side caters to the business and power types with views of the HSBC headquarters and other financial institutions. Many come here for tea and to appreciate the elegant interior. Others come expecting topnotch contemporary Asian food such as clay pot rice, Indian and Mediterranean dosas, macaroni and triple cheese baked with truffles, and crab meat poppers with rémoulade and leave disappointed. Clearly, Sevva's kitchen is experiencing teething kinks but do not be too quick to take a swipe at it. This hip joint has the financial muscle to strike back if it wants to.
