El Sabor Latino Description:
Sabor Latino is more than just another Margaritaville, though the 'ritas served here are highly recommended. The fare from owner Manuel Barco's native Peru joins a long list of Mexican favorites on the menu. Quesadillas, burritos and tacos are generously portioned. Saucy enchiladas are standouts. But Barco clearly favors his native cuisine, so he imports such ingredients as rocoto peppers and brown corn from Peru to make authentic dishes. Seafood is king in such dishes as his ceviche or the sopa de mariscos (seafood soup), garnished with cilantro. Traditional accompaniments are fresh lime, rice and chopped onions. Diners might also consider pollo con champiñones (grilled chicken with white mushroom sauce over saffron rice) or bistec encebollado (steak smothered with onions and tomato). Fried plantains are a good side. Flan and sopapillas offer a sweet touch.
