Cecconi's Description:
What a pedigree this restaurant maintains, which takes its name and owners---the Soho House group---from the original London location, and replaces Morton's, which for years hosted the famous Vanity Fair Oscar party. Those who have dined at the Cecconi's in Her Majesty's city will remember the same black and white marble floor but will notice that the seats have turned petrol blue. A rich and fashionable crowd flocks here because of its atmosphere, great covered patio, the bar where charcuterie hangs from the ceiling, and last but not least for its Italian cuisine. Start with the cicchetti---the famous Venetian snacks---and appetizers such as the grilled octopus with lemon, capers and olives. There are quite a few varieties of carpaccio as well as salads, sophisticated pastas and risotto. Even though we are in the heart of West Hollywood, there is a wood-burning oven in the kitchen that bakes pizzas (options include goat cheese and black truffle) and prepares eggplant Parmigiana and veal osso buco. Cheeses are strictly Italian, which is not the case for the short wine list where you will also find limited selections from around the world. End your dinner with the requisite tiramisu or a seasonal fruit tart.
