Eleven Description:
The large double-doors of this historic 1912 brick building, located in the heart of West Hollywood, have rapidly become the locals' entryway for a casual time around the bar set in the center of the ground floor facing a beautiful glass mosaic. Sip your cocktail at one of a number of tables but a favorite corner is next to the ten-foot-high fire and water feature. When it comes to the food, trust the experience of Vincent Manna---formerly of L'Orangerie, Spago, Mélisse and Maple Drive. He has adapted his solid, classic French technique to create contemporary dishes influenced by his own family origins (Italian father and Cuban mother). Start with the tuna tartare seasoned with mango, scallions, avocado and cucumber; the crispy duck confit salad served with blue cheese and a honey vinaigrette; or the roasted beet salad with pink grapefruit vinaigrette. For a light meal continue with a pasta or seafood risotto---but you would be missing the olive oil-poached salmon in a citrus vinaigrette, the sautéed black cod, the crispy-skinned organic chicken or the grilled marinated rib-eye with sautéed artichokes and caramelized red onions. Finish with banana cream pie or warm apple cobbler. The wine list takes you all over the world, where the new discoveries are much more affordable than the Bordeaux. To enjoy your food more peacefully, we recommend that you choose a table on the second floor.
