Located on a quiet corner just off busy Hoboken's restaurant row, Anthony David's features two intimate dining areas and a wraparound outdoor seating space that is popular in warm weather months. Although pocketsize, it never feels crowded. The menu is ever changing and reflects Anthony David Pino's dedication to using locally produced foods. One may find grilled lamb tenderloin served with Gorgonzola mashed potatoes, cherries and wilted arugula, or, from the sea, pan-roasted Chilean sea bass that shares the plate with speck, Brussels sprouts and herbs. A good way to enjoy the many dimensions of Pino's cooking is to sample some of the tasting plates. For dessert, homemade bourbon-glazed donuts are a staple, but it's the cheese plate that's a standout with such rare selections as Crottin de Chavignol---the aged, intensely flavored raw goat's milk cheese from France; and Vento d'Estate, an Italian semi-firm cow's milk cheese aged in hay and herbs. Service is relaxed and professional.
