Romanos Macaroni Grill Description:
A handsome bar is located just inside the entrance of this spacious restaurant. Bottles of wine are placed on its dining tables and the wine is charged on the honor system at $4.99 a glass. Among lunch sandwiches is the chicken Caesar calzonetto with roasted tomatoes and basil pesto aïoli. Parmesan-crusted artichoke cakes with diced tomatoes and zesty pizzaïola is among antipasti. Imaginative insalatas include arugula and spinach tossed with seared sea scallops, feta, crispy prosciutto, toasted walnuts and Parmesan crisps with a light citrus dressing. Overstuffed pastas include a house-favorite---lobster-filled tarragon ravioli topped with sautéed shrimp, asparagus, tomatoes and lemon butter sauce. Classico Italian choices include chicken and shrimp scaloppine served over cappellini. Seafood linguine is among "pasta di primi" winners. From the grill, we like the halibut topped with tomato-basil relish served with pesto Parmesan risotto and the 16-ounce bone-in Tuscan rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Save room for the chocolate caramel tiramisu with Kahlúa and espresso topped with crumbled pecan toffee.
