Applebee's Neighborhood Grill Description:
Wide choice of grilled entrees including steak, chicken, seafood and many other choices.Pasta, sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Full bar with sports on TVs. Smoking area around the bar and non-smoking away from the bar. Expect to wait for a table at dinner time on many evenings especially the weekend.
Despite this being a chain restaurant, there's a homey appeal about it. Scads of pop culture artifacts adorn the walls, which include homage to the nearest high school's sports teams and to other hometown heroes. Typically located in or near a shopping area, each casual restaurant is a favorite of families for its easy-to-eat menu items including massive salads, burgers, chicken entrées and the wildly popular barbecued riblets basket, served with barbecue or honey barbecue sauce and a generous helping of crispy fries. The low-fat menu even includes a chocolate-raspberry layer cake. The sizeable pub-style bar offers plenty for the grown-ups, including a line of signature drinks with such names as Bahama Mama, a Caribbean concoction created with Malibu coconut-flavored rum, crème de banana, pineapple, orange juice and grenadine.
