Crew Restaurant Description:
The contemporary setting is timeless; tea lights running along walls and low hanging lamps cast a soft glow upon banquettes and white tablecloths while decorative plants give the entire room a naturally lush feel. Though the ambience may be elegant, the mood is nevertheless decidedly laid-back. The chef Chris Geideman wears several hats no less, being at once proprietor, chef and manager, and the quality of the menu demonstrates that he is equally adept at all three. The dishes are served in half or full-size portions, making any selection ideal as an appetizer. Begin with the Screaming Oysters from Hell (they're offered humming, singing or, of course, screaming with varying degrees of heat). Follow this with a hearty pan-roasted chicken paillard, prepared with root vegetables and Tuscan ham for added salt and a hint of sweetness. For an ideal ending, the apple and pear tart with almond frangipane is a fine choice.
