India Palace Bar and Tandoor Description:
Featuring a cavernous dining room that easily supports a cast of thousands---and large private parties, too---this Indian restaurant stars impressionistic murals and overly elegant furniture more suited to someone’s parlor. The menu offers both North and South Indian fare, most of which is very familiar to anyone who regularly eats Indian meals. Perhaps the concurrent large party dining when we ate here distracted the cook, but cubes of lamb in the vindaloo were overcooked---indeed, some pieces were scorched---and the service dragged way beyond normal. We found that the breads at least merited a thumbs-up. This destination might be worth a possible second try, but with so many outstanding Indian restaurants in the metro area, you may want to invest your time and appetite elsewhere.
