Willy's Mexicana Grill Description:
Founded in Atlanta in 1995, Willy's Mexicana Grill now operates multiple units in Atlanta and one in Athens, all serving fresh food prepared quickly. This one is a student-hangout, thanks to a nearby university. Patrons choose a filling---grilled steak with cilantro and garlic, chipotle-barbecued pork, adobe chicken, and black beans and rice---for burritos or tacos. Salads and quesadillas keep vegetarians (including vegans) happy; tofu gets the same orange juice-based Sinaloa marinade as the chicken breast. The guacamole at this location has a singular fresh-tasting quality and correct chunky texture, but a squeeze of fresh lime juice perks it up as it also does the otherwise first-rate tomatillo salsa. This location offers bottled beer.
