Tacos Pepito's Bakery Inc. Description:
"El mejor lugar para comer," reads the sign at this low-key take-out place, and the cooks inside mean business: it is one of the best places to eat if you hunger for tacos and immense orders of pozole, menudo, chilaquiles, mole poblano, and steak- and pork-based dishes. But take a cue from the name: towards the back of the store, you'll find bins of freshly baked sweet breads, rolls, coffeecakes, and fat crumbly cookies. Most people seem to drop by for a carry-away meal, but the place also has a few chairs up front, where folks congregate to chat and eat. Prices are so low that you can afford to order meals for a houseful without emptying your wallet.
