Imagine finding first-rate Ethiopian food in a nondescript shopping mall, and in a storefront that looks more like a coffeehouse than a restaurant. Actually, the owner-cook does offer pastries and Ethiopian coffee plus sofas for lounging and magazines for distraction. But the real draw is the food. Doro wat (chili-based chicken stew) packs its traditional punch and the freshly made injera has that elusive fermented taste that is the bread's hallmark. Portions are generous, service comes with a smile, and the food is every bit as good as that served in the Ethiopian enclave in Adams Morgan.
