Seminole Gulf Railroad Dinner Train Description:
There is nothing quite like this dining opportunity. The Seminole Gulf Railway, home of the Dinner Train Theater, has for more than ten years run vintage railroad cars from the 1920s to the 1950s on a short track. Five nights a week, there is food and fun---a staged murder mystery accompanied by a meal that is surprisingly tasty. The trip takes about four hours and travels 50 miles altogether. This isn't a box lunch affair. All food is prepared fresh on board and while the prix-fixe menu is subject to change, a typical appetizer course might be a Southern cheese and cracker platter garnished with fresh cantaloupe and grapes followed by New England clam chowder. Entrée selections may include bacon-wrapped breast of chicken, poached salmon or roast prime rib of beef (with Blarney sauce) accompanied by a twice-baked potato and fresh green beans à la noix. Meanwhile, faux murder and mayhem are the evening's entertainment plus a prize for those who figure out who done the whodunit.
