At this chain restaurant, standard American favorites are dubbed with Aussie names, such as chicken on the barbie, Brisbane Caesar salad and Ayers Rock strip steak. The prime rib isn't bad. Some good beers on tap and the justly-famous deep-fried bloomin' onion, a flowerlike battered whole onion with chile-spiked mayo sauce, have made Outback a mecca for nine-to-fivers looking for a happy hour of brews and nibbles. It's also good for casual family dining.
