The cuisine is called gourmet Mexicano, a marriage of European technical flair with the complexity of flavors from owner Eduardo Pria's native Mexico. Consider the top-to-bottom quality of ingredients that go into these dishes, and the prices, a bit higher than common Mexican restaurants, will seem like a bargain. Some of the outlandishly delicious dishes: achiote-marinated pork loin with poblano chiles on a grilled cactus leaf; diver scallops dry-rubbed with Mexican herbs, skewered on sugar cane, and finished with a smoked chipotle aïoli; duck empanandas with green chili-pumpkin seed sauce; and how about blue crab-stuffed Gulf shrimp with pickled jalapeño tapenade? A modest, affordable wine selection pairs well with this masterful Mexican cuisine.
