China Grill Ftl Description:
Much of the Asian-Fusion menu at this branch of China Grill will be recognizable to those familiar with South Beach's old but still star-studded eatery, and as in Miami the 40-plus dishes are intended for sharing. Classics include lobster pancakes (most of the crustacean's meat very finely chopped---too much so for real lobster mavens) with mushrooms and red chili coconut milk; and the Grill's irresistible crispy spinach and mesclun salad with just enough savory-sweet-sour lime-miso dressing, topped with "crackling calamari" that's good enough to make one wish there was a bit more of it. (Sharing the latter dish entails grabbing the tender, crunchy-coated squid morsels before your dining companions do.) But there are differences here, too, such as a sushi menu, named for the Miami CG's adjacent Dragon Room restaurant and featuring delightfully inventive signature makis like the Havana (hamachi, scallion, rum, coconut, avocado and red tobiko). This indoor-outdoor space provides a panoramic view of the Intracoastal Waterway.
