Moon Under Water Description:
It's easy to walk right by The Moon Under Water. It looks like just another boutique or coffee bar, with lots of umbrella-ed tables and a deck. But this surprising venue for downtown St. Petersburg offers a pleasant, creative mix of Indian cuisine. Many of the appetizers are more trendy than Indian---baked Brie or macaroni cheese bites---unlike the entrées. We like the 100-percent all-natural tabbouleh with its rough mixture of chopped parsley, bulghur wheat, lemon juice, tomato, onions and herbs served in a tortilla shell basket with a side of hummus and pita bread. There is also tabbouleh with olives, feta cheese and red peppers, shrimp or chicken tabbouleh salad and even wrapped tabbouleh. Sandwiches and burgers are more standard American, but a British touch can be found in the beef or chicken potpies, mild, medium or hot curries and sides like raita, pappadum or naan. Traditional fish 'n' chips is also a guilty pleasure. Try the signature dessert of chocolate pâte over hazelnut sauce.
