T-Rex Cafe Description:
If you've dined at Rainforest Café, T-Rex is the next generation of this sort of "sensory overload dining," brought to you by the same Landry's Restaurant team. Expect a wait at this popular restaurant, where the line snakes out the door around waterfalls and a 140-foot-long Argentinosaurus. The 30,000-square-foot space with seating for more than 600 is tricked out with life-size robotic dinosaurs, giant fish tanks, real fossils in the bathrooms and impressive crystals in the walls. Our favorite space is the Ice Cave, a cool blue creation at the back of the restaurant with glowing walls. No one is here for fine food, but if you stick to the basics, it's just fine. You'll find family-friendly burgers, wings, quesadillas and baby-back ribs, but if you're watching calories or just looking for something more interesting, the Triassic Tuna is a nice start, with diced ahi and avocado on wontons with wasabi aïoli and Thai chili sauce. Lo-cal salads compete with huge bowls of pasta and breaded sirloin steak. At Disney World, this is kid-pleasing "eatertainment."
