Dan Marino's Restaurant Description:
At the former Miami Dolphin's eponymous eatery, sports fans can get a football signed by the Hall of Fame quarterback, as well as a justly famous garlic butter-topped 18-ounce "Quarterback Cut" bone-in aged rib-eye. But non-fans needn't fear; the team theme isn't overplayed. Ambience is less Super Bowl-boisterous than casually super-comfortable, especially for diners lucky enough to grab one of the couch-like booths inside. While the menu makes a few wild passes at modernity, it's wisest to stick with steaks and simple comfort food classics, unless covering fresh mahi mahi with nuts and vanilla rum sauce, like a fish sundae, strikes you as a good idea. We recommend the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and wine-rich mushroom gravy; the Marino burger (with cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon and onion crisps); creamy, basil-spiked tomato bisque; jumbo lump Maryland crab cakes with a lively dill-caper dip; and two of the town's top fish sandwiches: crisp-battered fried grouper or fire-roasted mahi mahi, both on toasted potato rolls with the same dill-caper sauce. Note: The outdoor dining-bar area takes on a nightclubby ambience on weekend nights when there's live entertainment.
