Conch House Marina Resort Description:
It's only fitting that America's oldest city have a restaurant owned by America's oldest documented family. In business for over 18 years, the Ponces (no relation to Ponce de Leon) named the restaurant after their famous conch fritters and conch chowder. Folks also flock to the restaurant for a taste of Floribbean fare, including seafood primavera with scallops, shrimp and crab sautéed with fresh vegetables in a garlic cream sauce, and Caribbean kabobs marinated in island spices and served with grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms. The Conch House also specializes in tropical drinks like the Goombay Smash, a mixture of three different types of rum, apricot brandy, and fruit juices. In keeping with a Caribbean theme, the restaurant features kitschy, individual thatched tiki huts overlooking the water. As imagined, the huts are romantic---and in demand---so make a reservation or plan on waiting if you request one for dinner.
