Café Boulud Palm Beach Description:
Daniel Boulud's first venture outside Manhattan has been a continuous success since it opened in July 2003. On top of using his culinary talents, he has put together all the right ingredients: the right chef de cuisine and the right location in Palm Beach. Renovated with elegance, the legendary Brazilian Court, boasting a hotel and luxurious condominiums, needed a restaurant of the same caliber. A lovely Mediterranean courtyard sets the tone of the colorful interior of Café Boulud. Amber, gold, terra cotta and citron colors bring Palm Beach's sunshine indoors. Boulud has exported to the Floridian coast the same concept, as well as the chef Zach Bell, from his Big Apple restaurant. The menu is divided into four sections: La Tradition, highlights of classic French dishes; La Saison, featuring courses in harmony with the seasons; Le Potager, vegetarians' paradise; and Le Voyage, inspired by Boulud's interpretation of different cuisines around the world. The pastry chef, Jennifer Reed, also from Café Boulud in New York, concludes your meal with her sweet preparations such as a nectarine-almond tart, or cherry streusel. In other desserts, she is known for using a subtle secret ingredient: rice wine vinegar.
