This restaurant, snuggled into a residential side-city to St. Petersburg, has been serving consistently fine French food for nearly 30 years. Locals have fond memories of intimate, romantic (read: dark) meals here where the menu is limited but reliable and the service is equally embracing. The décor is old European, with fancy tablecloths and lace curtains, and every effort is made to suggest a quiet French country restaurant. The French onion soup is an old-fashioned version piled with cheese and croutons, served in a small, brown ovenproof bowl. The restaurant is also noted for its Kir royale. Entrées include lamb chops, stuffed flounder, veal piccata and shrimp scampi. We also suggest the veal---either veal crêpes as an appetizer or veal Cordon Bleu as an entrée. Desserts also are what you might expect: chocolate mousse or cheesecake.
