Hungry Tarpon Description:
It opened as a casual breakfast-lunch stop, but is now an important place for dinner, too. Classical-French trained chef Joseph Sassine worked his way through fine dining rooms throughout the Caribbean before arriving in the Keys. So while you will enjoy huge-portion, diner-style breakfasts and hearty lunch fare, be prepared to be startled at what's on the dinner menu---five distinctive local peppers with herbs and spices distinguish the chef's signature pepper dip, for example, or try his fish chowder. Main courses showcase his talents, as in seafood cardinal (an assortment of fresh catch in brandy lobster cream sauce), veal chops in Cabernet demi-glace, or the classic Parisian dish, lobster Thermidor. Work off a slice of coconut-banana cream pie with a stroll down the pier to watch the tarpon dive and shimmer.
