Bascom's Chop House Description:
Don't be distracted by the restaurant's exterior; this venue is a fine example of why it's not good to judge a cuisine by its cover. Sure, the emphasis is on steaks and seafood, but there are also some signature dishes. Appetizers include jumbo garlic shrimp and oysters casino while the Black Plate Seafood Platter (a chef's selection of chilled seasonal fresh seafood) is a shareable starter. The Bascom's prime rib is a popular dish here, running a close race with the standard surf 'n' turf. When available, the Grouper Bubba is a more trendy offering---fresh Gulf of Mexico grouper sautéed with onions, peppers, capers, tomatoes, olives and white wine. There are also several wood-grilled seafood selections: salmon, sea bass and tuna. Desserts include a Belgian chocolate torte and crème brûlée.
