Rumba Bar & Grill Description:
The folks behind Salt Rock Grill, Island Way Grill and Marlin Darlin' have reinvented Hogfish Grill as a sprawling indoor-outdoor Caribbean joint, complete with tiki torches, Bob Marley on the sound system and tropical drinks flowing. The food is more serious than this may indicate, with addictive jerk chicken wings, Scotch bonnet-cheddar corn muffins, bacon-y Jamaican greens and mashed sweet potato. As with its former incarnation, seafood dishes dominate the extensive menu (fried shrimp, grilled mahi, crab cakes), but the smoky pork ribs are worth a little intense investigation. The kitchen's reliance on those white ceramic "amuse-bouche" spoons for sauces is unfortunate---not enough sauce and difficult to dip into. No matter, because the service is cheery and efficient, and the mixologists know their way around fruity rum drinks.
