Review :
A gem in the mountains. Fernie has great skiing and after a days skiing a hot curry was the order of the day. Restaurant opens at five and it fills quickly during the holidays, so get there early if you dont want to wait. Its first come, first serve. Had lentil dip as a starter and Bombay curry. both were excellent and not too spicy. Will be dropping in next time I'm in town. You have too wait for the best things in life. Also ski the currie bowl which the restaurant is named after, has the best powder.

Review :
This is a long story but I want the point to be clear. My girlfriend and I were passing through Fernie and decided to eat at the Curry bowl for dinner as she had enjoyed the food previously. She told me the service was bad the last time but the food was good so we wanted to give it another try. Upon arrival we were ignored by the hostess at the door as she served a group that walked in behind us. We went out of our way to get her attention and she seemed annoyed to have to add us to the waiting list. She told us a table for two would be 15 minutes. We went to the waiting room where we were told 5 minutes later it would be another 20 minutes. Now up to 25 minutes we decided to wait anyways. 45 minutes later people who arrived after us were being seated. I asked her what the problem was and she told me the table for two was taking longer than expected to clear and the others were seated first because a table for four had opened up. I understand this but I think it should be compensated for. After an hour we were finally seated. I asked her to mention to the manager that we were upset and would appreciate a little compensation on the bill. We ordered and ate our food. Our waitress was good, the food was good, but when the bill came there were no amendments. I spoke to the manager myself about it and he explained to me that in ski season he doesn't compensate bad service because it's so busy. The funny thing is I would have been happy with a 10% reduction which would have been less than my tip. Instead NO tip, and neither myself nor any of my friends who drive through there frequently year round will ever eat there again. I would also like to add that I kept calm and was polite to all those who worked there. I'm not the arrogant type that makes a scene. This time being polite didn't seem to matter. Sorry to the waitress who did an excellent job and the cooks who created the food. Too bad the owner doesn't care about good service or his restaurants reputation.
