The Roobar Description:
A small local chain of upscale contemporary American eateries with an emphasis on seafood. Each location has its own menu.
The Roobar is bright, eclectic, sometimes loud and always interesting. The menu incorporates flavors from around the world as well as ingredients from the Cape's farms and shore. We like the oysters three ways and the spring rolls with peanut sauce to start. For the main course, we've sampled such wildly varying dishes as sesame-crusted ahi, brown sugar and ancho rubbed venison and the Rooburger with polenta fries. The food is creative, highly flavorful and rarely disappointing. The menu encourages diners to "have dessert first," and it wouldn't be a bad idea. Selections range from banana chocolate bread pudding to cardamom poached pears. The Roobar also has a restaurant in Chatham, with a slightly different but equally interesting menu.
