Fiesta's! Cafe & Cantina Description:
Every surface---walls, chairs, tabletops---in this small restaurant is painted with fanciful animals and fish. Colorful piñatas hang from the ceiling. The atmosphere is pure fun. The food, prepared by Susan and Debbie Marquez, is made from family recipes their grandparents brought to Colorado from New Mexico. Start with the spicy guacamole or fresh jalapeno poppers. The green chile is rich and full of pork and freshly-roasted green chile. Menudo lovers swear by the slow-cooked, red chile-flavored dish served here. We also recommend the crisply fried chiles rellenos, the ground beef-stuffed savory sopaipillas, and the tamales (served New Mexico-style with an egg on top). For dessert, the sisters make an exceptionally creamy flan and a hot, cinnamon-sprinkled sopaipilla sundae. There is a cute kids menu with ready-to-color pictures captioned in Spanish and English.
