VALLEY ZOO Description:

Parking:

Plenty of free parking available for vehicles of all shapes and sizes – all just a short walk to the front gates.

Public Transportation:

Route 596 - Buses travel on an hourly schedule between the South Campus Transit Centre, Fort Edmonton Park (includes the John Janzen Nature Centre) and the Valley Zoo. Passengers pay regular ETS fares. Service is provided by an accessible low floor bus.

Valley Zoo is open daily (9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Miscellaneous:

Tigers, snow leopards and red pandas, too! The Valley Zoo is home to more than 100 exotic, endangered and native species.

Come and learn about the Valley Zoo’s involvement in the North American Species Survival Plan and its work to return endangered species to the wild.

Enjoy one of the many daily Let’s Talk Animals presentations--here’s your chance to learn how to bathe an elephant! Join the ducks and geese and take a paddleboat ride around the pond. Ride the miniature train and check out the Children’s Zoo where you can talk to the animals face-to-face. There are a multitude of hands-on activities for all ages. You will always find a special presentation that will help you learn more about the animals in our world. Don’t forget to plan a rest break at the lunch bar.

Performance Venue:
Uncovered; Open Air (in the meadow). Dress for the weather conditions (rain or shine).

Seating:
Festival seating. All general admission, no reserved seating.

Food Services:
Food services will be available on site.

Gift Shop:
The Valley Zoo gift shop kiosk is open weekends and special event days in the Saito Centre 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The full gift shop will reopen on May 9.
