My partner and I love the Creperie's romantic ambience, and the restaurant had become our choice for Valentine's date night. Last night's experience ended the tradition and now we start the search for our new favourite. Our waiter (attentive, with an oddly formal manner) explained that the new chef took a different direction with this year's offering - this was a very bad idea in our opinion. Our entrees were completely cold and our dessert was warm and melted. While our appetizer was the only item served hot, to be fair, the menu description should note 6 "miniature" escargot. There was no point in sending the food back, as the service was excrutiatingly slow and as it was, we were almost the last patrons to leave the restaurant. I chose the Marlin, which was prepared in a salty brine that made it nearly inedible (somewhat reminiscent of salt beef I ate in an east coast pub a few years ago). The vegetables and rice were bland, boring and completely unadorned. My partner chose the venison, which ironically, while delivered to our table at room temperature, managed to be overcooked with a slightly burnt flavour and served on an unremarkable nest of congealed linguine. We were disappointed, as evidenced by the amount of food we left on our plates for the pigeons in the alley to feast on.

This is a really romantic restaurant with such quality food. I love to bring my lady friends here for a little romance and culinary excellence. The baked brie is great for an appetizer and can you please try the frog legs? The baked french onion soup is also very nice. The french entrees are very good, lamb, beef, duck, mussels ( not just crepes folks). But if you want crepes, there are crepes galore. Savory and Sweet. There are so many choices and all that I have tried has been really, really tastey. It is also a great spot for vegetarians. The service was superior and the ambiance oozes romance.
