I was taken here for a special Valentines Day dinner earlier in the year. Having never experienced it, I was almost certain my dates rave reviews of it were a little contrived. However, fromt he moment I walked in, I was overcome with a sense of comfort from the rather modest surroundings. Small but comfortable tables offer a sense of closeness to your dinner partner, while still giving enough room to keep you from feeling crowded while you eat. The firt thing I thought of was a humble greek-itiallian infusion setting, and it set the pace for a relaxed by up-scale dining experience.
The service was hands-down, utterly amazing. Our server was greatly insightful as to the menu and wine pairings, even though they have two seperate wine menus ( a list of wines that are relatively difficult to find in the city, as well as a econd list purely of Canadian content).
There was a special menu prepared for the Valentines day crowd, and we ordered from both the special menu and their standard menu. The food was spectacular!
I enjoyed a potato soup that was simply heavenly, as well as a spoonful of mushroom soup pillaged from my dates bowl. Both were a hearty beginning to the meal, creamy and delicious.
I chose the duck for my main course. Everything was well proportioned on my plate, with the second peice of duck kept warm while I enjoyed the first. It was suculant, juicy, and have a wonderful balance of flavours in the cranberry and orange confit.
For dessert, as an avid coffee drinker, I enjoyed a specialty coffee and a small peice of chocolate offered at the end of the V-day meal.
Overall, it was an amazing treat. It's not inexpensive, but completely worth the price if you want ot have a special evening with someone, or impress those high-end collegues of yours with your knowledge of fine edmonton dining.

Oh Norman, you are so great. This is such a good restaurant that I enthusiasticly want to recommend it. Great quality, artisticly designed and created. The chef is a genius. The Shrimp and Scallops on pasta with herbed butter cream sauce was so tastey. I also loved the chicken & Shrimp spring rolls with ginger soya sauce. I will definetly be back to sit on the patio when it warms up. Thanks Norm.
