Fire of Brazil Description:
Centered by a circular fire that evokes the image of the traditional South American barbecue, Fire of Brazil is a third churrascaria to open in the Atlanta area in the past couple of years. The salad bar features lovely smoked salmon, tabbouleh, excellent potato salad, hearts of palm and fat asparagus. Don't eat too much, though, or you'll have trouble savoring all that's to come. Young, traditionally attired men circle the dining room in response to the cards on the tables that, in Portuguese and English, invite them to bring meats or ask them not to appear. The picanha is the best---rare, juicy and tasty. Other meats tend to be well-done, but that might appeal to some patrons. The wine list underwent a much-needed overhaul in the early part of 2003, as it needed more South American wines. Now it has added from the globe's wine bounty, with an emphasis on reds for obvious reasons. Skip the reds from Brazil, as these are not yet up to snuff.
