Open in 1991, Yen Jing attracts patrons from many of Atlanta's food-passionate communities. Shu-Chih and Hsiu Hsia have developed a fine reputation for topnotch, rigorously authentic Chinese food. The couple is of Chinese ancestry but lived in Korea, so the food is Chinese but styled so it would appeal to Koreans. Forget sweet-and-sour anything here. This is the real deal. When you sit down and place your order, very good home-made kimchi and another pickled vegetable arrive to keep you happy until dinner. Fishes range from the familiar to little known. Jellyfish comes prepared several different ways. Steamed dumplings are among the best anywhere. Noodles are all homemade. Wide varieties of seafood, including sea cucumber, grace the seafood menu. We recommend the spicy beef with pickled mustard greens.
